Amaya and Yoko's birthday party

Hi Everybody,
This is Amaya and Yoko again.  We finally got around to having a party to celebrate our birthday which was back in early July.

Opening our first presents.  By the way, Yoko is wearing the red shirt.  That is mini saige and the AG travel artist set (in the box) with a few extra art things added.  The easel was one of my favorite present (this is Amaya speaking now:))

Here's a better look at mini saige :)I really love her.

Amaya got a stuffie Totoro and I got a pair of black boots :)

Ugli dolls!!!!  ice bat and wippy

Exchanging our gifts for each other, necklaces, one with a paint pallet charm and the other with a ballerina charm.

Our delicious brightly coloured layer cake!!!!  We each got our own cake.

Eating cake with our friends, it was delicious.  Mini Saige looks as if she wants some of Yoko's piece of cake.

That's it for now.
Yoko and Amaya :) :)

p.s. this is mini saige speaking, I managed to sneak off and have an adventure yesterday without Yoko noticing.  Stayed tuned for more about that another time.
p.p.s I want to have adventures, I am real after all but Yoko doesn't know that.

indoor camping

Hi Everybody,
This is Sophia and Emma.  We wanted to go camping but some of us are bug phobic so we decided to camp indoors where there are almost no bugs (and no dog poop either).

Here we are getting ready to set up our camp site.

attempting to put up the tent.

We finally got it up.

putting in the sleeping bags.

Finally settled in.

Eating pizza, the perfect camping food:)

we decided to change into our pjs.

smores and iced tea:)

something is going on in there.

Sophia fell asleep first.  I could have stayed up for a while yet.

Mum told me it was time for bed.  Good night.

That's it for now.

p.s. look for pictures from Amaya and Yoko's birthday party later in the week.  We were invited of course :)

Amaya update plus cool solar powered boat

Hi Everybody,
This is Yoko.  I just wanted to let you all know that Amaya arrived back home yesterday.  In fact she is sitting right beside me as I write this.

Here is a photo of us :)  I'm the one wearing the skirt.

Here's an old photo of us wearing matching outfits back when we were about 8 or 9, I think. Amaya is whispering something in my ear. Amaya did have blue shoes like mine but the velcro ripped on her pair.
That's it for now.

Yoko :)

p.s. none of us went along but our guardian went down to the waterfront on tuesday (the 16th) to see the largest solar powered ship in the world while it was docked in Halifax.

It's a trimaran which means it has a single hull and 2 outriggers.  The flat part on top is covered with solar panels.

http://www.planetsolar.org/

It is a research vessel and says University of Geneva on the hull (it says it in French: Universite de Geneve)

A side view photo of the gangplank.

And finally a view from the back.  You can see one of the crew members inside if you look closely.

Hopping around the harbour :)

Hi Everybody,
This is Yoko.  Today in spite of the REALLY HOT weather I went with my guardian and her uncle and aunt and cousin on a tour of the city and the harbour on the harbour hopper.  It was hot enough to make my vinyl squishy, my guardian was a little concerned but I'm fine now.  For those of you in the US the temperature on the thermometer in the driveway here in direct sun was almost 109 degrees (43 celsius for those of us using the metric system).
We couldn't get any photos of the boat so here is a link to the tourist info instead:

This video is from 2009 and it's not very high quality but it gives you a good idea of what downtown Halifax looks like:)  My guardian's family members who were on the harbor hopper with us are visiting from Maryland.

We did take a few photos, sorry they are not very great but here they are anyways.

This is a very old church in the city square.  Apparently there is a legend that this building is haunted.

These are cormorants.

This is the only photo of me and my guardian, her uncle took the photo and cut off her head, oops.

And finally this photo is from today but earlier on.  McKenna survived a park visit with the 6 year old cousin.

That's it for now.

Yoko :)
p.s. maybe next time I guest post here Amaya will be back.

Happy Bastille Day 2013

Hi,
This is Sophia and Emma we just wanted to wish any French readers of this blog a Happy Bastille Day,  Joyeux 14 Juillet (our mom's mom is a translator and is bilingual, (and that means she knows how to speak French).

And in other news, we survived being played with by our mom's 6 year old cousin including being forced to wear pink party dresses, apparently we were going to the prom.  I,  Sophia in particular really, really don't like pink or dresses.  The cousin also thought I should wear Emma's glasses too.  Emma did not want me to wear her glasses.

Also, mum took Becca's original wig off today and it was a lot easier to do than she had thought it would be.

That's it for now.

Sophia and Emma :) :)

A new look:)

Hi Everybody,
This is Rebecca and I would now like everybody to call me Becca :)  I got a awesome new look today.

Here I am, do you like my new blue hair :)  By the way, this is a wig I am wearing over my original one.

And finally a close up :)  This works for better for me and my mom.  Let's just say that she finds curly hair challenging.

So, what do you think?  Instead of frequent hospital visits, I think I might rock the bald look and get myself some other wigs too.

That's it for now.

Becca :) :)

More birthdays

Hi Everybody,
This post is by Sophia and Emma and Yoko.  We'll be colour coded for your convenience (just for Yoko)  :)  This post will have LOTS of photos to make up for yesterday's one that had none.  We hope you like them.

We decided to wake Yoko up on her birthday :)

What do you want????  Just let me get up and get dressed ok?
 Ok, hurry up!!!!

Oh wow, presents!!!

The card says it's from my birth mom (not my step mom)

Oops I opened it upside down

It's definitely not an AG doll

An Amelia Thimble doll by Wilde Imagination.  She is a 4" tall fully articulated doll, wow, she is tiny and amazing.

This card and gift are from us :)

A gorgeous locally made hairclip.  My guardian knows the talented maker of this.

And now it's time for cake (doesn't that hairclip look great on Yoko ?)

The cupcakes were delicious.  Thanks everybody for making my birthday special even though my twin Amaya couldn't be here.

That's it for now.  You might not hear from us for a little while because we are out of town family arriving for a week long visit.  But there should be at least one blog post after they leave with photos of the fun stuff we do together.

Sophia and Emma and Yoko :) :) :)
